FC Kochin (also known as FC Cochin) was the first professional football club in India, established in 1997 in Kochi, Kerala. The club played a vital role in popularising
football in Kerala, especially during the late 1990s. They were the only Kerala club in
the Indian National Football League.
Nicknamed “The Elephants,” the club had a
